The CRISEA project held its 2nd Dissemination Workshop on « Development and Transformation in Southeast Asia: The Political Economy of Equitable Growth » in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 9 July 2019. It brought together researchers from Work Package 2 ‘The Economy’ and involved a closed-door session with the European delegation to Malaysia as well as two Public Lectures organized by the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Malaya University: « Less Poverty, More Precarity: Squaring the Circle of Southeast Asian Development » by Prof. Jonathan Rigg and “Origins of Conflict, Roots of Violence: Historical Dimensions of the Rakhine State Crisis” by Dr Jacques Leider. The CRISEA project members would like to express their warm thanks to H.E. Maria Castillo Fernandez, EU Ambassador to Malaysia, for her support and to organizers Prof. Edmund Terence Gomez of Malaya University and Dr Pietro Masina of Naples L’Orientale.
