Do Ta Khanh is Director, Centre for EU Studies, Institute for European Studies – Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS). He obtained his Bachelor’s degree at Vietnam National University in international Studies, 1999. He then obtained his Master degree at Roskilde University (Denmark) in 2005. He obtained his PhD degree at Graduate Academy of Social Sciences, Hanoi, with a thesis: Industrial Policy in some European Countries in the Early Decades of the 21st century. During the last 11 years, he has been project manager and team leader for various international, and particularly EU-funded projects.

Capitalist Transformations in a Post Doi Moi Vietnam
A research on the impact of Vietnamese industrial policy on the economic reform and social development, with particular attention to the model of industrialization, reform of state-owned enterprises, and labour issues. His research will be based on both available literature and fieldwork to be conducted in three main industrialized parts of the country, namely the Hong river delta in the North, Da Nang city and Quang Nam province in the central, and Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong province in the South
