Professor of International Political Economy, Monash University, Malaysia. Helen E S Nesadurai is Assistant Professor in the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS) at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her research interests are in the broad area of international political economy, with a special focus on the globalisation-regionalism relationship, and on issues of development and governance in an era of globalisation, particularly as they relate to Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific. Her 2003 book on Globalisation, Domestic Politics and Regionalism: The ASEAN Free Trade Area is published by Routledge in its Routledge/Warwick Studies in Globalisation series. She has also published refereed articles (individually and co-authored) on APEC, ASEAN economic regionalism and institutionalisation, think tanks and Southeast Asian regional cooperation, development models in Southeast Asia, and the Malaysian political economy. She holds degrees (BSc & MSc) in biochemistry from Universiti Malaya, an MSc in Development Economics from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick.
