Dr Thida Tun is Professor and Head of the Political Science and International Relations Department at the University of Mandalay (UM) in Myanmar. She obtained her BA in 1991, MA in 1997 and PhD in 2007 from UM. In 2015 she was a visiting research fellow at Central European University (CEU) in Hungary, and in 2017 at CEU summer course: Student Centered Learning in European Universities. She is Chair of Internal Quality Assurance Committee at UM. Her research interests are focused on the Peace Process in Myanmar and the comparative study of foreign policy and constitutional type. She is at present conducting research on Myanmar's Integration in ASEAN, Rural Development and Poverty Alleviation in the Mandalay Region and the Peace Process in Myanmar. Outside academia, she is one of the government representatives at the 21st Century Panglong Conference.
