Vu Ngoc Quyen

Vu Ngoc Quyen is a researcher in the Division for Regional Economics, at the Vietnam Institute of Economics, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. She obtained her Master’s degree in Public Affairs at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University, United States. Her research interests include public policy, public governance of regional coordination and linkages, and labour and migration issues seen within the longue durée perspective of economic history.

Former Female Factory Works and their Post-Industrial Perspectives
This project involves a study of especially female industrial workers who left their factory when they were relatively young, i.e. around 35 years old. The investigation will focus on the reasons for leaving factory work, their current livelihood, and their involvement in the social security system. The fieldwork will be carried out in the north of Vietnam by a VASS team....
